Website and Services

The website for The Migration Firm is clean and easy to navigate, but there is not much really happening on it. In their About Us page they have a brief description of the company, although there is no mention of the owners, neither do they mention if they have a registered Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) on their team. When researching the company, we ran the company name and came up with a list of RCICs apparently associated with the Migration Firm. The following RCIC were listed:

  • Ken Aboutaam (R406359)
  • Thanh Tan Nguyen (R515064)
  • Se Kyung (Serena)  Park (R530781)
  • Dominic Suen (R419807)
  • Xiao Hua Wu (R421591)

This is the highest number of RCICs linked to one agency that we’ve seen so far. There are 2 RCICs linked to Migration Review that does concern us due to their status on the ICCRC website.

  • Oleksandr Arbetov, (R407007) Disciplinary Revocation
  • Monavareh Tofangsazan (R509452) Administrative Suspension due to failure to pay membership fees

On the other hand, the website does mention the services that they offer, contact details, an assessment form, and links to their various social media platforms. Very basic information, they don't go the extra mile to reveal themselves to clients and prospective clients alike. The website itself is secure which is comforting seeing as payment can be made online. There is terms and conditions policy located at the bottom of the page however it is hidden by the “Let’s talk” online tab. It includes privacy, cancellation, refunds, pricing, and fees as well as payment confirmation.

Services

The Migration Firm’s website mentions that they are experts in the provision of the following services:

  • General Skilled Migration (Permanent Resident Visas)
  • Student Visas
  • Investment and Entrepreneur Visas
  • Citizenship by Investment
  • Partner Migration Services
  • Family Migration Visas
  • Work Permits
  • Global Employment Solutions (GES)

Apart from these immigration services, The Migration Firm also provides ‘other services’ to their clients such as:

  • Business Setup and Management Services
  • Legal Translations
  • Attestation Services
  • Hotel and Flight Reservations
  • Travel Insurance

The Migration Firm provides free assessment services, and they have an assessment form available on their website. However, there is a vagueness about most of the services that they provide as they just mention them and don't provide proper descriptions. This makes it very difficult to understand what exactly they mean.

Social Media and Reviews

The Migration Firm’s social media is very modest at best. We managed to find their Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages. The Facebook page is the most active, with a following of just over 29,000, where they regularly post immigration news and video testimonials from their clients. However, there is not much client interaction happening there. In contrast, their Twitter page is completely neglected, with a modest following of just 57 and only 22 Tweets since the page was created in 2015. The very few Facebook reviews we managed to find about The Migration Firm were mostly of client's negative experiences and about clients asking for visa application procedures and job availability. There is really not much in terms of positive reviews about this firm. The LinkedIn page has 391 followers and has regular and relevant immigration posts however once again not much user interaction.

Conclusion

There are too many grey areas and unknowns for an immigration company that claims to “open up your world of migration”.   For starters, there is no available proof that they are registered with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) on their page. We run the names of their entire team as provided on their LinkedIn profile and none of them are registered with the ICCRC. However when we entered the company name on the website we were given a number of RCICs affiliated with the agency, however, 2 were not in good standing with the ICCRC, which is concerning. Their social media platforms and website content needs a lot of work and improvement. In addition to that, their website mentions the availability of online payment. The website has a disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy pages available but hidden at the bottom of the website by an online chat tab. With this information, we advise anyone entering into business with The Migration Firm to exercise caution and due diligence.
