There’s an old saying that goes: “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” If we were to judge this site based on appearances only, we would give it a thumbs down. The site lacks clear terms and conditions, refund and privacy policies. On the “Why Scotia” page it briefly mentions a refund policy but doesn’t give any other details. What’s more, their interface looks somewhat outdated, with no real effort put into it. They have not even provided a proper logo and the sidebar overlaps an article on the home page. We also found the fact that the latest news update on this site was in March 2017 concerning. Where have they gone?

Under their ‘Services’ tab, they provide a detailed description of what you can expect from them as an immigration consultancy, including an introduction into the different visa programs that they have to offer as well as a free assessment. We also appreciate that they have also detailed their entire process and requirements on this page. They also claim to offer value-added services such as Free Assessments, a Job Search Tool, Resume Builder and Career Coaching Tools, yet we struggled to find them on the website.

Social Media & Online Reviews
 

Scotia Consultants have provided two social media links on their site, namely Facebook and Twitter profiles, but furthermore, there is no other social presence. Their Facebook presence so-so at best, as their last post was in June, and they have a sufficient following of just over 6,600 followers. Their twitter feed is simply not worth mentioning and seems to have been forgotten, with 65 followers and the last tweet made just over a year ago. We were also only able to find 20 service feedback reviews online, all within the past year, which we did find oddly suspicious since they claim to be in operation for more than a decade. Where are their past successful clients?
 

Conclusion

While we commend how simple and to the point Scotia Consultants are, we are concerned that their site is so outdated and their online presence non-existent. Rahim remains an active RCIC member yet there is no real evidence of any past clients which does slightly bring their reputation to question.
