About Canada Abroad

Canada Abroad is an immigration consultancy agency with a registered Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) agent, Deanne Acres. Deanne, who is Canadian, is now living in Johannesburg, South Africa and is helping people immigrate to Canada from:

  • The U.S.;
  • The U.K.;
  • UAE;
  • New Zealand;
  • Australia;
  • Ireland; and
  • South Africa

The website does not say if there are any other agents nor does it list Deanne’s membership number. We had to do a little homework of our own to find her RCIC number, #R508363. Deanne is a registered RCIC agent and she is in good standing with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). Deanne has nine years of experience in Canadian Immigration and five years as a Canadian Border Services Officer.

Website and Services

The Canada Abroad website is visually appealing but, when you start going through it, the information can be quite overwhelming. There is a lot of information to get through and it clutters the site somewhat. It is, however, very thorough and provides information on just about everything that you need to know. We liked that the website provides links to helpful pages such as study information for your IELTS test, salary expectancy, and job searches. It also provides you with some interesting facts about Canada. The website has all the important pages, like Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, available at the foot of the homepage. Most importantly, their Blog is the kind dreams are made of. It is very informative, with well-written articles and news regarding Canadian immigration. Everything a prospective client would want to know about any Canadian visa is found on this page. Similarly, Canada Abroad explains their services in great detail as well as quoting prices. They mention that they offer free consultations that can be done in person, Skype or through email. Canada Abroad provides Canadian immigration services through the following programs/system or visas:

  • Canadian Experience Class;
  • Provincial Nomination Program;
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program;
  • Federal Trades Worker Program;
  • Business and Farmers Program;
  • Express Entry;
  • Student Visa;
  • Visitors Visa;
  • Work Permit; and
  • Family Sponsorships

It is very clear that Canada Abroad is a well-organized immigration agent because all of these services are well explained. All the fees that are charged for these services are also clearly explained and the website is secure, which is important when entering sensitive information online such as personal details and credit card numbers.

Social Media

Canada Abroad has a great social media presence. Their Facebook page has a large following of 56,629 likes and it is updated regularly with interesting articles about Canada. Most of the comment on the reviews page was positive barring one regarding service, however, we find that they respond to every comment promptly, whether positive or negative. Their Twitter page has 3,431 followers and is also updated regularly. Their Pinterest page has 1.6k monthly viewers and has relevant and informative pins and boards. Their Instagram feed could be used more regularly. It has 1,188 followers and unfortunately not much user interaction. The Youtube channel has a few helpful videos however the last one to be uploaded was done 10 months ago. The LinkedIn page has 655 followers and is updated regularly with relevant immigration information. Overall, they have a decent social media presence, however, their user interaction could be improved.

Conclusion

Canada Abroad’s website is easy to use and very helpful. Deanne Acres’s credentials are made known with her years of experience. It is worth noting that while their Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) has had over 9 years of experience in the immigration industry, Deanne seems to be the only RCIC agent involved. The website mentions an administrative assistant but no other agents. We are impressed with the design and content on the website which is secure and has privacy, and terms and conditions policy. They have a strong social media presence, however, their user interaction has room for improvement. Following our Canada Abroad review, we have determined that the company is a legitimate immigration agency with an experienced, licensed consultant.
